Over 66 years of Community Impact

Our Mission

Throughout our 66 years, we have supported over 90 arts, education, health and welfare non-profit organizations. We carefully select our fundraising beneficiaries, recipients and partners to maximize our impact.

Community Giving Fund

Inaugurated in 2023, Summit League has established a fund to provide year-round opportunities to non-profit organizations serving Santa Clara County in the areas of arts, education, health and/or welfare, and to respond to emergency needs in Santa Clara County. Grant requests can be made for a program, project, or capital improvement project. Summit League has allocated $40,000 to the 2024-2025 Community Giving Fund for grants. To be considered, submit the completed form to the Community Giving Committee as provided in the Community Giving Fund application.

ORGANIZATION SPOTLIGHT

Pursuit of Excellence

Proceeds of the 2023 Summit League Spring Luncheon supported Pursuit of Excellence-South Bay (POE-South Bay). The mission of POE-South Bay is to provide financial support and mentorship to hard working, academically successful first generation students from low-income families. Each student is paired with a volunteer mentor, often an adult familiar with the major the student has chosen, who will coach the student throughout their college career. The mentor’s guidance and the student’s academic grit, along with scholarship funds from POE-South Bay for the college journey, have made it possible for 78% of participating students to graduate (well above the national average for the same population). 98% of POE-South Bay funds go directly to support student scholarships as this an all-volunteer organization, with no salaries or office expenses.

Bill Wilson Center

“One of Bill Wilson Center’s Guiding Principles is Collaboration, and thanks to support from Summit League we were able to maintain a continuum of services for homeless youth and families throughout the pandemic,” said BWC’s CEO Sparky Harlan. “The funds raised by Summit League allowed BWC to provide chromebooks, school supplies and internet access for students in our homelessness prevention programs, as well as basic needs such as food and hygiene items.  Summit League’s generosity has truly helped us expand services for homeless youth and families throughout Santa Clara County.”
